International Children's Theatre Festival

25th jubilee edition of the one of the most important children’s theater festivals in the world, will take place from 16th to 21st September in Subotica.
Subotica International Children’s Theater Festival will present 14 imaginative and exciting performances within official selection competition program, from 12 countries from all around the world. The program consists of shows from Poland, Great Britain, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Monte Negro, Hungary, Austria and Serbia.
Special program, on the occasion of the Festival jubilee, dedicated to the Chinese children’s theater, will present performances of the Chinese National Children’s Theatre from Beijing and Shanghai Theater Academy.
As the side-program the Festival will present ballet Pinocchio performed by Serbian National Theatre from Novi Sad, drama and ballet programs at the Town’s Square prepared by the children of various ages, book presentations, Faculty of Applied Arts student’s posters exhibition, workshops and evening panels with Little Prince award laureates.
The Festival supports INTERREG IPA CBC and THEATRO project activities that consists of puppet’s exhibition Five Cities – Five Theatres, puppetry camp for children from Subotica and Szeged, visit of Kever Bela Theater from Szeged, and rerun of the part of the Szeged’s Festival competition program.
This year the Festival assigns Grand Prix for the Best Performance, awards for the Best Director, Best Stage Design, Best Original Music, Best Puppet Design, Acting/Puppetry Excellence (five equal awards) and special prize for originality and imagination. The awards will be assigned by the international three-member jury, composed of renown world’s theater artists and theatrologists.
All the International Children’s Theatre Festival programs are free.
